Laslett International’s Managing Director Bob Laslett was engaged by an international oil company to provide project management support for the merger and integration of several entities to create Russia’s third largest oil business.
The merger was a major undertaking, the first of its kind within the Russian Federation.
Bob’s role was to provide the integration planning, facilitation and project assurance to ensure that all the activities required to achieve financial, operational and organisational control were achieved in time to support day 1 of the new company. This was delivered successfully in a high pressure and sometimes uncertain environment.
Following launch, Bob was retained by the new business to provide planning and execution rigour to projects designed to improve process, controls and transparency.
Bob was responsible for:
Project office and project management services, including project strategy development, project planning, work breakdown and progress tracking, estimating, cost control and risk management.
Project management support to the project director of supply chain project including the provision of assurance for both the programme and the deliverables, reporting (with escalation as required) and in the preparation of business cases.
Design and development of project content e.g. process controls, delegation of authority framework. Project co-ordination of the various consultancy companies employed by the client.
